On November 27, 2014, 162 students of the Asia Institute of Sciences participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Japan Hospital at Phnom Penh’s Russey Keo district, presided over by His Excellency Dr. Mam Bun Heng, Minister of Health, His Excellency Im Chhun Lim , His Excellency Kumamaru Yuji, Extraordinary Ambassador and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Cambodia, His Excellency Fujimoto Koji, Counselor of Office of Health and Medical Policy, and Cabinet Secretariats, a representative of His Excellency Amari Akira, Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy, the Government of Japan.

Dr. Kitahara Zigami, the new Head of Japan Hospital, thanked the students and leaders of the Asia Institute of Sciences who attended the ceremony with pleasure and pride. Dr. Zigami was thoroughly satisfied with the commitment and cooperation between the AIS and the international standard hospital.
