1. Course objective

To equip students of Associate Degree in Nursing with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable them to function effectively as a nurse midwife in contributing to maternal and child health care in Cambodia.

 

2. Learning outcomes

Graduates from this program will:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the policies and procedural guidelines on nursing and midwifery, and maternal and child health care
  • Conduct midwifery practice
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and respect for people regardless of their socio-economic and beliefs
  • Demonstrate ability to co-ordinate comprehensive high quality of care to clients and the community in line with the standards of midwifery practice
  • Use the primary health care approach to meet basic health needs in the community through community participation
  • Be responsible for continuing personal and professional development with and awareness of changing health trends
  • Demonstrate ability to assume leadership and consultative role within the health term
  • Participate in research that contributes to knowledge in reproductive health issues.
